I don't know about you, but I feel like the family that lives in this awesome modern Singapore home should have a pet panda, just saying. I also can't get over how crisp and white the place is. If I could work bamboo trees into my home, I totally would.

the perfect white home

No matter what, white paint is always a great choice. You know you will never get sick of it, you can dress it up or down and it always makes your home feel bright, airy and open. This past January was the House and Home trends issue where they tell you whats going to be hot for the year. I spy a few  trends in this home! Can you spot any?

Claw foot tub - oh how I love thee.

This room was most likely a bedroom given the size and has flawlessly been transformed into a walk-in closet. Pretty perfect right?

At home we have an enormous collaboration of pictures from over the years all up the wall on the main staircase. I have been eager to create another one somewhere of prints just like the one below.

There is something about Scandinavian style that is so calming and yet edgy. They manage to create a neutral space with pops of excitement. This home has just that. I mean have you checked out that dining room table and chandelier below?! I would be too nervous to have a dinner party thinking that something might happen to my beautiful table. Is it new? Is it mid-century? It's everything rolled into one. 

An all marble bathroom? Yes please! You can splish splash all over the place without a worry.

enchanting kitchen by sarah richardson

Kitchens are meant to be the 'hub' of the home where people gather at all times of the day. When looking to buy or sell your home, the kitchen can quite often be the deciding factor on whether or not the home is right for you. In the case of a particular young couple, they found their dream home that had lots of potential, except for the kitchen. Enter Sarah Richardson and her HGTV Real Potential team where they helped this couple see the Real Potential of this home by renovating the kitchen!

With a classic white design like this, it is the accents like the backsplash and hardware that give this kitchen a unique look. These crystal and gold twin pendents are what caught my eye - have you ever seen something so quant and beautiful before?

Sarah replaced the wall between the kitchen and living room and replaced it with 
an island with lots of storage. This also completely opened up the space!

Sarah extended the kitchen into what used to be the mud room for additional storage. If you have the space, make your cabinets run ceiling to floor for a completely customized and symmetrical look.

Clean lines, simple design and a neutral colour scheme are the key ingredients to creating a serene kitchen. My secret ingredient is to always have a few vases of fresh flowers spread around the kitchen and a few pots of fresh herbs on the windowsill.  

What do you look for in your dream kitchen? 

I am a huge fan of having the counter of your island a different material. 

If you really want to customize this piece, change the colour of the cabinets as well!

Marble counters can be expensive, you have to keep them spotless from permanently staining. 

Having a whole wall of marble is a great solution!

This way, you get to have marble in your kitchen without worry or maintenance!

Although Chevron + Herringbone floors look similar, there really is a difference between them. The Chevron pattern runs flush to the next floor board where as Herringbone overlaps. Which one pattern is your favourite?
