the perfect white home

No matter what, white paint is always a great choice. You know you will never get sick of it, you can dress it up or down and it always makes your home feel bright, airy and open. This past January was the House and Home trends issue where they tell you whats going to be hot for the year. I spy a few  trends in this home! Can you spot any?

Claw foot tub - oh how I love thee.

This room was most likely a bedroom given the size and has flawlessly been transformed into a walk-in closet. Pretty perfect right?

At home we have an enormous collaboration of pictures from over the years all up the wall on the main staircase. I have been eager to create another one somewhere of prints just like the one below.

style at home ikea kitchen makeover

Erin McLaughlin, editor in chief of Style at Home Magazine, had her kitchen re-vamped head to toe in IKEA. Breath easy in this newly renovated serene kitchen of while marble, stainless steel appliances,  a charming eating area and a modern fireplace with comfy seating. IKEA has truly been able to catch up to their competitors and produce products which look amazing without breaking the bank.

The before.

I love how Erin uses silver as her everyday cutlery!

[guest post] style + interiors

The lovely and talented Debra from Dustjacket
has put together a delightful combination of high fashion and interiors.

I love fashion and interiors, so I thought this guest post was the perfect opportunity to combine them both!

As soon as I saw these photographs, they looked like a matching combination... All exude a subdued elegance, with a glamorous undertone. The colours are beautifully understated and I'm loving the pale grey, silver, charcoal & white.

... and how stylish are Olivia & Johannes!

Thanks for having me over Sara

fireplaces & stacked wood

A fireplace is an area where friends and family can comfortably gather together and enjoy the warmth and view of the burning logs.  Stack lots of wood around your fireplace, this acts as a unique and natural art piece.

white rustic kitchen

Rustic dining is always charming and mix-matched seating is so cute! Would love to eat here and have a toasty fire going.
