masculine monday | the beginning

Masculine design is a favourite of mine. You can brighten up a handsome space with lots of windows and white walls. Keep it simple with clean lines, minimal textures and few colours. Today I begin the Masculine Monday series!

white winter foyer

I am up in Collingwood this weekend and have entered into a winter wonderland. There is something about a white blanket of snow that makes my heart flutter. This crisp white foyer, fur shawl and rustic nature branches are all this room needs to feel like winter.

set the tone for your home

Accent your entranceway with interesting features by adding a glammy carpet on your floor. This will instantly make the statement you are looking for when your guests first enter your home. I have always wanted one of these rugs in my home!

Design by Jan Showers

An entrance sets the tone for your home. A stunning entry with simple and elegant gold trim accents.  This is one of my favourite foyers.

An oversized mirror leaning against the wall is a favourite. It adds such a grand feeling to a room.

Zebra-Hide rug found at Neiman Marcus for $566

This Blanco Hair hide rug found at Neiman Marcus for $999 has such a rich contrast with white against dark wood flooring.

Cow hide found at IKEA for $299

With all rugs, it is recommended to use a rug pad underneath to maximize its life and beauty and keep from slipping on tile and wood flooring.
